SPYDERCRANES Working Hard in Los Angeles

Back in February 2020, NR Windows had six SPYDERCRANE units working on one major job site in Century City, Los Angeles, California. The company is in the middle of glazing the largest project on the west side of LA and has over 10 of Smiley Lifting’s units on site. Not only did they have three rented SPYDERCRANES, they also had two MAVLift 1320 Offroad units as well as two man baskets. The company also owns three of their own SPYDERCRANE units, totaling six of the mini crawlers. This massive job site was once a part of the Hyatt Regency Century Plaza hotel, which is also going under complete renovation. This job is comprised of two towers reaching 28 stories. Both towers will house floor sized multi-million dollar apartments that boast views of the Hollywood hills and the Pacific Ocean.

The job is expected to be completed in Fall of 2020, but that may be on hiatus due to the issues with COVID-19. The SPYDERCRANES have been an essential tool for NR Group to get the job done on their site. The compact design that allows them to transport the crane up each floor on the service elevator, is crucial for the success on this job. The SPYDERCRANES are placing floor to ceiling sized glass in these wrap around apartment units on all floors of each these towers. Some of the units are equipped with the man basket attachment to work over the ledge for completing outside tasks. Most cranes are mounted of the side of the buildings, reeling the pieces of glass up and over the side of each floor.
