SPYDERCRANE is a brand of mini-crawler cranes distributed across the United States and Canada exclusively by Smiley Lifting Solutions, but where do the mini-cranes come from, and how are they made?

A SPYDERCRANE starts its journey at the Furukawa UNIC manufacturing facility. Furukawa UNIC is a Japanese company that is the largest manufacturer of booms in the world. They manufacture around 21,000 booms a year and their products are known for their strength and reliability. UNIC products are distributed to all parts of the world.

Once a UNIC Mini-crawler reaches Smiley Lifting Solutions, there is work to be done before it becomes a SPYDERCRANE product. UNIC produces five types of mini-crawlers for Smiley Lifting Solutions but Smiley Lifting Solutions offers over 45 variants of the five series of SPYDERCRANE mini-cranes.

Lead by Tony’s ingenuity, our highly skilled technicians make modifications to the mini-crawlers. These modifications include (but aren’t limited to) adding variable power sources (electric/battery/propane/gas/diesel and combinations), auxiliary winches for working from high platforms, and boom attachments for glass and panels. In addition, models are customized to meet requirements for specific regional regulations across the US and Canada.

The transformation of a UNIC Mini-Crawler to a SPYDERCRANE is generally completed in one of our six manufacturing bays and takes three days to complete. Once the mini-crawler is inspected and tested, it is ready for transport to the customer or job-site to comple the cycle of UNIC Mini-Crawler to SPYDERCRANE Mini-Crawler Crane.
